To better serve the residents of Smithfield, North Smithfield, Burrillville, Glocester, Scituate, Foster, Woonsocket and other western Rhode Island communities, Tri-Town Community Action Agency has opened a new satellite office on the grounds of The Village at Waterman Lake Retirement Community at 715 Putnam Pike in Smithfield. Initially, Tri-Town Eldercare Assistance and Emergency Services Intake will be based there. From this office, residents will now have much easier access to case managers who can help with social services for the elderly as well as housing, food, shelter and other emergency services.
“This is a very attractive location that brings Tri-Town’s staff and services much closer to many of our clients,” said Joseph DeSantis, Tri-Town CEO. The elderly and their families can get help with general assessments, community and home care, self-neglect and access to social services. The new office is also a site where low income families in need of basic or emergency help can find out what is available to them in the areas of rent or mortgage, food vouchers, utility assistance, weatherization, boiler repair, prescriptions and more.
“Very soon we expect to expand the services available at our new Smithfield satellite to include youth services and substance abuse prevention as well as serving as a portal to all of our services for adults, adolescents, children, and seniors,” said DeSantis.
