At its 2009 Annual Dinner, “Night of the Rising Stars,” held on May 18, 2009, The North Central Chamber of Commerce recognized the Tri-Town Community Action Agency as the Outstanding Community Service Organization of the Year. In presenting the award, the Chamber cited Tri-Town’s many services and special initiatives that improve the quality of life in the community and that lead people towards self-sufficiency. Specifically mentioned in presenting the award to Joseph DeSantis, Tri-Town CEO, were expansion of health, behavioral health and dental services, elder case management, employment, education and training programs, youth prevention and family intervention services, and other social services for low income families.
“We are honored to be recognized and will continue to be vigilant, as we have since our founding in 1965, in providing programs that meet the ever changing needs of the community,” said DeSantis.
Nancy Carrott Named Ambassador of the Year
Tri-Town Job Developer, Nancy Carrott was also honored at the North Central Chamber of Commerce “Night of the Rising Stars” as their Ambassador of the Year. At Tri-Town, Nancy is responsible for developing job opportunities for youth enrolled in Tri-Town’s GED program and for establishing internships with companies for the Youth Summer Program. Nancy is a regular at the Chamber’s Business After Hours,” always welcoming members with a warm smile. In receiving the award for her help and support, Nancy said “It is a privilege to serve the Chamber by welcoming new businesses into the area and striving to support it members.” Congratulations Nancy!
