ABOUT TRI-TOWN COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY

The Tri-Town Community Action Agency, a private non-profit corporation, has provided a wide variety of social services to the disadvantaged of northwestern Rhode Island since its establishment during the Johnson Administration’s “War on Poverty” in 1964. The majority of programs operated by Tri-Town Community Action Agency serve the residents in the Towns of Johnston, North Providence, Smithfield, North Smithfield, Burrillville ,Glocester, Scituate and Foster; however, the Agency does provide limited services in every city and town throughout the state of Rhode Island.

The Tri-Town Community Action Agency has an annual budget of $10.1 million and employs over 140 staff for a variety of positions in varying fields. The Agency’s mission is to assist low-income, elderly and disadvantaged community residents transition out of poverty and into social and economic self-sufficient. Tri-Town Community Action Agency assisted more than 12,500 people last year.

Tri-Town is a private non-profit corporation with 501-(c)-(3) status. This allows Tri-Town to receive charitable funds and foundation monies.
