Partnership for success [PFS]

Working in partnership with the Town of Johnston, Tri-County Community Action Agency and the Johnston Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition were the 2015 recipients of a Strategic Prevention Framework [SPF] grant from the Rhode Island Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities, and Hospitals [BHDDH].

Under the terms of the grant, theTown of Johnston is the official government entity accepting the funds, whichare then provided to Tri-County and the Coalition in the form of an annualdisbursement. Tri-County serves as the administrating agency for the grant,overseeing the implementation of the drug abuse program as outlined in thegrant application.

Among the tasks set out in thegrant are:

  • Identifying factors that lead to drug and alcohol use among young people;
  • Developing a strategic plan with community stakeholders;
  • Creating an implementation plan that explains how the funds will be used to reach the target audience; and
  • Evaluating the results of the program.
