Tri Town Community Center Opens

In the summer of 2010, we purchased and renovated the Tri-Town Community Center, which opened its doors on October 1, 2010. The Community Center has filled a major gap in the community, specifically for at-risk youth in need of a place to participate in sports, recreation, and athletics, after school projects; martial arts; art; music and special events. Located in the Town of North Providence, the Community Center is a work in progress, but is already offering youth substance abuse prevention programs; case management, youth diversionary programs, youth employment, education and training, summer youth programs; and a broad range of social services mainly directed at serving youth and families. With a full gymnasium we have established in-door soccer and basketball leagues; a martial arts center; and various other physical education; recreational; and child health and nutrition services. The community has rallied around the Center and is highly supportive of activities provided to youth during traditional hours and also during weekends and evenings.
